Chapman Wins USPGA

Journeyman takes his first Major Championship!

Seasoned Tour Professional and friend of PG, Roger Chapman, had his biggest win of the year this weekend, winning the 2012 USPGA Seniors Championship.

Roger held the lead for at least some time on each of the four days of the Championship, held this year at Harbor Shores on the banks of Lake Michigan. Heading into the final round, Roger had a 5-shot lead and took that to an incredible 9-shots early into the last day.

Precision Golf-Roger Chapman Lifts the USPGA Seniors Championship Trophy“In the back of your mind you think, `Can I blow a five-shot lead?’ The negative man sitting on your shoulder there, telling you all the things that could happen,” Chapman said. “It is difficult, when you haven’t been in that position before.” (PGA.com – http://customf.it/KJ5dow)

Roger held his nerve to finish on a 13-under total and win by two over John Cook, making him the first player since Hale Irwin in 2004 to win the Senior PGA Championship after holding at least a share of the lead following each round.

The PG Team are incredibly proud of Roger and want to wish him a huge well done, and hope this is a great sign of things to come for Roger’s seniors career!
